The Society’s history

The Société des Amis du musée national de Céramique ( Friends of the Sèvres Museum Society, FSMS) was registered as a non-profit association on October 20, 1930 in the department of Seine et Oise, France. The association is based in Sèvres. It had been initiated in 1929 by the Chambre Syndicale de la Céramique et de la Verrerie, in cooperation with the Manager of the Manufacture nationale and of the Musée Céramique de Sèvres, with the aim of promoting the development of the Sèvres museum.

The FSMS was state-approved by a decree of November 20, 1967, published in the Journal Officiel  de la République Française of November 26, 1967.

The bylaws of the Société des Amis du musée national de Céramique modified by the Extraordinary General Meeting held on May 15, 2012, was approved by a decree of the Ministère de l’Intérieur dated December 20, 2013, published in the Journal Officiel  de la République Française of December 20, 2013.
